– Joseph Riggio, Ph.D.
Have you ever felt incomplete and lacking in some way?
Do you ever wonder what your meant to be doing with your life?
Are you curious about what your life would be like when you are whole and complete, living it fully and magnificently?
First things first … you should know you are not alone.
The challenge you face may not be about you at all. In fact it far more likely you are experiencing the challenges you do because the fundamental narratives you’re living from are deeply flawed or entirely broken.
The most essential of all of the narratives that you organize your world around is your autobiographical narrative, or your “Life Story.” When your “Life Story” isn’t working … your life isn’t working.
“The Narrative Is Broken“
This is not a philosophical, psychological or physical issue, it’s a mythological issue, and we may have something that will help.
Our basic private client work is based on the MythoSelf Process work designed by Dr. Joseph Riggio and we call this approach, Mythological Coaching & Therapy.
Mythological Coaching & Therapy works directly to re-access and re-integrate your autobiographical narrative, or “Life Story,” and then re-aligns it with the larger social and cosmological narratives that you live within and in relation to that drive your actions.
The reason that Mythological Coaching & Therapy is so powerful is that it re-aligns you in a wellformed way with yourself first, and then allows you re-align with the larger social and cosmological narratives in a wellformed way as well.
Some folks would call this “soul work,” and while we would agree, we also recognize the narrative, mythological structure that is broken that needs to be repaired … and we’ve created ways to do that that will allow you to release your innate magnificence and prosper, thrive and succeed brilliantly.
The Four Essential Narratives
-
We all live in relation to at least four essential narratives:
- 1. Our personal autobiographical narrative, or your “Life Story” … and,
- 2. The pragmatic, working narrative that defines what’s real and what to do about it
- 3. The narrative of the society and culture we dwell within and act in relation to as well
- 4. A cosmological narrative that defines our relationship to the great mystery of the unknown
The essential skill you need to master is learning how to Navigate The Narrative.
Autobiographical Narrative: Your “Life Story”
The most important narrative as an individual is your personal autobiographical narrative, i.e.: your “Life Story.” This narrative allows you to know yourself and generates the potency that you move through life from, as well as shaping your personal filters of perception.
When your “Life Story” is broken, or ill-formed, you will feel as if your life is incomplete. Despite whatever success you’ve experienced there will be a sense that something profound is missing. The disappointments, frustrations and experience of failure and essential lacking will remain a potent force shaping your experience when you are operating from an ill-formed “Life Story.”
Your “Life Story” is the fundamental mythic form you possess, it defines you completely as you know yourself to be today. Yet, beneath however you perceive yourself as you are now, there is a fully-formed perfect autobiographical narrative woven into who you are at a level essential to your being.
When you re-access and re-integrate the essential “Life Story” back into how you know yourself you automatically re-align yourself to act with full potency, access to realizing the full measure of your potential as a human being and manifesting your desires on your own and with others.
This is the most essential work of the MythoSelf Process.
Mythological Coaching & Therapy
There is a challenge we all face today, because the pragmatic, social and cosmological narratives that we dwell within and relate to are largely broken.
The pragmatic, social and cosmological “stories” are no longer whole and complete. These stories are fractured and ill-formed, making it difficult or impossible for someone who is uninitiated to create a wellformed alignment with them or within themselves.
When you try to organize yourself from the outside-in via the ill-formed pragmatic, social and cosmological stories your autobiographic narrative becomes ill-formed as well, and you feel incomplete and lack wholeness.
However, when you are organized from the inside-out via a wellformed autobiographical narrative, i.e.: your “Life Story,” you can align with the external narrative in a way that allows you to make it work for you instead of against you.
Accessing, eliciting and transforming the fundamental autobiographical narrative that organizes perception and drives behavior, is the essential work of the MythoSelf Process, aligning your Life Story in a wellformed way with the larger narratives of the society and culture you dwell within.
Once you’ve re-integrated your “Life Story” and re-aligned it with the larger social and cosmological narratives you’ll free yourself to act with great potency, independence and liberation from constraint. We call this process “GETTING UNSTUCK” and know it to be a common trait of all elite, successful and super-successful performers.
