Are you stuck and seeking a breakthrough in your life?
Wondering about your sense of purpose and mission?
Have you begun to consider what your legacy will be?
Do you have a personal relationship on hold or off-track?
Is there a significant decision you need or want to be making?
There are the types of questions and concerns that clients come to me seeking input about.
My clients typically say something like, “I have a sense that I’m off course in some way.” It’s an awareness they have that they’ve either lost or simply haven’t yet found the deep sense of directionality they desire … about something in particular, like a relationship or a decision … or in general about what to be doing with their life.
Addressing these kinds of issues with client is what I call mentoring. Depending on the needs and desires of my clients: in one-to-one sessions, in small groups, by telephone … or via individual or group video coaching over the Internet. We have set up a dedicated site to provide live video coaching with individual clients or with small groups. Many of my clients are already highly successful … many of these clients are executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and private practice professionals … others are politicians, entertainers, athletes and artists … and some others have yet to experience this level of success in their lives.
Regardless of where they are coming from most of my mentoring clients come seeking a significant shift in their lives. These clients come expecting a transformational breakthrough and I’ve built my private practice around delivering the kind of profound results that match their expectations.
I began doing mentoring with individual clients in the late 1980s, which I called “private work” back then, and set up a full time practice including mentoring as well as consulting and training in 1990. Over the past twenty plus years the way I’ve approached mentoring has changed significantly, both in terms of the services I provide and the manner in which I provide them, and I’ll give you the highlights here.
Generally, there are a few different ways that I provide mentoring:
MythoSelf® Individual Mentoring – on occasion a client wants to retain me for ongoing input and support for an agreed to period, say between three months and a year in length, when this is the case I work on a customized retainer basis
MythoSelf® Intensive Mentoring – these are individual, private sessions with me lasting from one to two days depending on what you want and what we agree to when we schedule your time with me. Regardless of the option you choose I always provide a full month of intensive telephone follow-up and a full year of unlimited telephone and email support to you included automatically
Small Group Mentoring – this work with takes place in a small group of four to twelve individuals and tends to be intensive using the full engagement of the group dynamics in a powerful way to create truly transformational experiences for everyone who participates
MythoSelf® Special Mentoring, is an exclusive program for clients who have worked extensively with me previously who want access in short concentrated bursts to ensure that they stay on track and take the steps forward that they intend – while this program is ideal for prior clients of mine who are looking for just this kind of input only, it is not appropriate for developmental or project-based mentoring purposes
However, the essence of mentoring has remained the same and stays that way regardless of the format. The nature of the mentoring I do and the approach I take is all about finding the answers that come from a deep personal knowing and tapping into the success blueprint that’s inherently available to us all. And yet, sometimes despite our deepest desires to access them, this deep personal knowing and our success blueprint remain elusive.
Some folks refer to the kinds of answers and the I’m referring to as intuition. I actually like the term intuition and use it with my clients. I’m always happy to teach my clients how to tap into what I like to call their deep intuition, which is connected to my ideas around intuition can sometimes be ambiguous. What I mean when I refer to intuition is the sum total of all life’s learning that emerges whole-form and informs you in an instant precisely how-to approach the situation you are facing (regardless of what, where or with who that situation is about). Rather than something that is mysterious or unexplainable intuition is a trainable and dependable skill that you can learn count on.
Much of what I do when I’m doing mentoring has to do with connecting clients with their deep intuition as I’ve described it in the paragraph above. The result of tapping into this deep intuition is a sense of certainty about what to be doing in any situation. I like to say this is learning about what it’s like to “never put a foot down wrong”, a phrase they use in horse racing about how top performers and winners move. What my clients say is that learning how to operate this way changes their lives completely.
”Hi Joseph … remember my crisis at job? Well, in the “manifest world” all finished fine, almost un-noticed … But, in my inner world, I had a specific profound moment of realization that “yes, I can really quit here and now, and all my future is still here in front of me”… what a magic… and from this position… “everything is the same, and nothing is the same”. – Petar Rokic, Private Work Client
All mentoring begins with scheduling a session directly with me. The best way to do this is by visiting my mentoring page, reading through the descriptions of the various mentoring programs there, and then filling out an application to be considered for mentoring with me. Once you’ve filled out the application and I’ve reviewed it we’ll schedule a time to speak by telephone and discuss where you are in your life and what you want from doing mentoring with me. Many clients tell me that this first telephone meeting begins the process of transformation they desire from doing mentoring with me before we even meet formally.
During our telephone call we’ll come to an agreement together about whether or not mentoring with me is for you, or whether there is a better option that I can recommend. If we agree that mentoring with me is right for you we’ll usually speak for another 15-30 minutes about what you want and by the time we’re done with that conversation you’ll have a very clear idea of both what you want and what you can expect from doing mentoring with me. We’ll also have an outline that we’ll be working from together that forms the basis for our agreement to be working together. Of course if some reason we decide that it’s not the best course of action for you to be taking there’s no obligation whatsoever to proceed together, and if you’ve paid a deposit we’ll return it to you immediately with no questions asked.

In my two plus decades of working with elite performers around the world I’ve found that there are certain essential, common elements they share that go beyond the ordinary hype about what it takes to excel. This is true regardless of the particular arena of performance or the location on the planet in which it’s taking place.
Becoming an elite performer boils down to an act of sustained personal transformation – becoming aware of who you are and holding that awareness intact regardless of the circumstance or situation. This is the intersection of integrity and intentionality – a place that is familiar to every elite performer I’ve ever encountered.
Creating elite performances is a function of becoming aware of and remaining connected with your being at your core. This awareness and connection come before and goes beyond any consideration of what you know or how you behave – although both knowledge and behavior are important. Beginning the sequence with the ontological consideration of “being” – the most fundamental sense of how identity and reality are held – is critical.
One of the things that I’ve found to be most compelling about my research and practice around facilitating elite performance is that it always exists in relation to others. This is the basis of another essential component, one that anyone who intends to attain a level of elite performance needs to understand and master is the essential structure of shared reality, i.e.: social ontology.
Mentoring … Making It Happen
I call what I do with clients mentoring whether I’m working with you on individual, personal issues or I’m working with you in an organizational role … CEO, President, Owner, Partner, Principal … the basic approach is the same. My entire approach, as well as all of the models I’ve built and use, are ontologically designed. I begin all the work I do with clients, individually and organizationally, from the consideration of being.
I will work with you to create the possibility of transformation guiding you through the process of becoming aware and connected to your essential self. Once you have attained this fundamental awareness we will link this way of being with behaviors that generate exquisite performances to create the outcomes you intend. It is my intention to give you access to resources and opportunities you need to extend your reach into this domain yourself …
Let’s begin the journey anew …
